Hallo! We are 18 students and two teachers travelling to Werder / Germany from the 28th of March until the 24th of April 2015. We will be hosted by the Ernst-Haeckel-Gymnasium Werder and are going to visit several historic places in Berlin, Potsdam and the "Schwarzwald". This is the 6th time a group from Lynfield is going to Germany and all students look forward to using their German language skills in authentic situations.

Berlin
Today we went to Berlin and did a day tour around the city, visiting key
sites in the city which gave us many ideas of the cities' history. In
particular, we visited a memorial to the Holocaust, which was very powerful and moving, forcing us to think about what had happened. Also, we visited the impressive Berlin Cathedral along with a thought
provoking war memorial for the victims of war. Tomorrow we have a day tour of Potsdam. (by Elysha)

Auckland-Hong Kong-Frankfurt-Berlin
On the 29th of March 8.00am local time we arrived at Frankfurt Airport
after a very long flight from Hong Kong, We then took a very fasinating
tour of the city and saw many of the cities old churches and buildings.
We saw buildings such as the amazing Frankfurt Cathedral which stood at
an outstanding 95 meters tall! Later we had lunch in a nice restaurant
and I ate a traditional German meal, it was schnitzel with bbq sauce
and hot chips it tasted amazing! (by Scott Hughes)
